Entertaiment is a multidisciplinary management area that has various definitions. This article proposes an academically accepted and systematically built definition that is based on product, experience and culture notions.
Even though technology changes the availability, cost and variety of entertainment products, the forms that make them up remain recognisable. This is illustrated by the fact that stories like Scheherazade – an example of professional storytelling in the Persian tradition – have been retold as orchestral works, film and innovative video games.
